What have you done to your 8V today?

Bit of routine maintenance - checking pressures and fluids.

Decided to change the air filter and clean out a few dried leaves and a dandelion seed from the air box. Was surprised how clean the filter was but as I was there, changed it anyway.

Changed comfort indicators to 4 flashes which was fine but it somehow reset my door locking settings to unlock all doors and not to fold mirrors on lock. Strange they reset but easy to put them back how I wanted them.

Added grey wheel bolt covers

The bolts was new when the wheels went on. But was starting to look a little worse for wear

so I had some new grey bolt covers

I believe they was from a seat many tears ago

just had to order the correct tweezer tool to remove them as I don't want to be damaging them or my wheels on removal

A pre-winter wash and polish, swapped out the carpet mats for rubber ones, and swapped the 19" summer wheels for some 17" ones with Nokian winter tyres. Do look a bit odd on the S3 but I already had them from my A4 and they were fully refurbished after last winter. All they needed was some spigot rings. They clear the calipers by about 10mm. Surprisingly the swap hasn't affected the ride over-much (I'm running them at 36psi front, 32psi rear) but it is significantly quieter on the tar-and-chip finish on the A41 locally.

nothing from day when i have it :) byt planning to make powerfolding mirrors dechrome and install rs3 grill :D

Got some custom made floor mats.

Booked it in to get the last of the de chroming done on the window surrounds on Monday, can’t wait.

Put an rs3 exhaust on the normal 4 banger to better control the sound. It's very quiet with flaps closed and similar to a straight pipe when open!

The fabrication of the y pipe wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but my welding needs some more practice

Finally, I found and fitted a black grille badge suitable for an aftermarket RS3 style grille. The badges that fit the oem grille were a bit too small, but this one is exactly the same size as the chrome one that was fitted to the grille from the factory.

MOT day and looking at the mileage since last year my New Years resolution is to go on some epic trips in 2021. Unfortunately not driven much this year due to lockdown and working from home etc. Had her since new and as you can see, low mileage for 6 years old........ still like a new car :)

Liking this. So you adapted it at the down pipe? do the tips line up with the S3 Diffuser ok?

Do you have a link for these mate?

Diamond car mats.
Claimed they were a UK company but they came from China.
Despite customs of 25.00 and the mats were about 100 with %25 off, they are good quality.
I would wait for boxing day for another 25% off. Took about 6 weeks delivery.

Well, not me but got the black ambience panels on the doors PPF’d as they can be scratched just by looking at them.

Swapped the insides of my key into a shiny new one ! Now the key blade no longer pops out and pokes me ! Also looks so much better than the poverty spec key our cars got... I will do a full write up in the next couple of days.

Lockdown & cold weather finally killed my already dying Moll EFB battery (week 24 2018 so just after bad batch batterygate).

Installed and coded a shiny new Varta AGM instead, as I suspect warranty would be denied due to low mileage/use.

Not much room under the bonnet - would probably remove the air box next time for better access.

Was trying to wire in a CTEK charger flylead at the same time: Negative attached to the chassis ground fine but anyone else noticed what appears to be a captive nut on the positive terminal clamp, so open to suggestions.

On the bright side, no need to use BEM codes any more.

Just cut the ring terminal on your charger cable enough to slot over the battery fitting thread & then clamp it tight with the nut.

This. Snip a section out of the ring in order to make a C shape.

Bought myself the DTUK pedal box + . Always felt the throttle pedal has a delay/dead spot on first press. Hopefully this'll sharper it right up.

Does it make that much difference on the S3?
I had one on my stage 1 BMW 125D and it made a world of difference when set to S+

well it certainly does on mine but I also have a GFB DV+ valve fitted so that helps with the slight lag when changing up
