What have you done to your 8V today?

By not working 100% what do you mean ?? Not return to where the mirror was or sometimes doesn’t seem to work at all ??
Yeah return issues, although doesn't seam to happen often with mine but I don't use it that much. If you have a device? It's worth giving it a try out.

View attachment 176745 View attachment 176746 Wrapped my wing mirrors gloss black last night, then gave her a scrub today.

Any thoughts or comments welcome as I know some are on the fence with this mod...thanks to @MA3RC for the assistance.
The wing mirrors look much better in black. I'm ordered my car with the black wing mirrors from the factory, however I considered an option to not spend this money and just wrap them before placing the order.

What vinyl did you use? It looks very good and glossy. Is it anything expensive such as 3M or is it something from ebay? I have some wrapping experience as I wrapped interior bits and chrome fog lamp surround on my 8P. I used cheap vinyl from ebay, though the result was good. I ordered gloss black vinyl again for some small projects on my next car from ebay again.

I ordered the vinyl from ebay as well, but it was 3M...link below.

£23 quid to do both sides, and that's probably ordering a little too much to be honest.

These really are a pain, the last car I had, not one panel was unmarked and not one bit of damage was done by me.

Got my timing belt and water pump getting done on the 15th. Getting done for 495 from Audi. Only 25 quid more then a specialist. Plus side is free mot every year for the life of the car so will make that 25 quid back in jan

4 hours of work on the A3 this morning, 2hrs alone just on the wheels trying to get every last speck of tar.

I had all mine done at Audi too, I've always used the same garage and they do tend to try their best to get close to specialists. Mine was 530 with the water pump.

Yeah I asked them if they would match. They were honest and said they couldn’t but could do 495 that’s cambelt water pump and a new fan belt. After that it’ll be getting remapped as I think the 150bhp tdi is under powered

Is yours quattro? The temptation for a remap is strong here also but the car struggles for traction alrrady with 184ps through the front wheels in the damp

Had a go at getting my parking ding out .... pretty successful can only see it if your looking for it now I'd say 80% out . Kit was ok, cheap Chinese stuff overly priced. The glue didn't damage the paint probably quite good on larger more concave dents not a dent and a dink line like mine . I think without using a professional its the best i will get .

Used this kit
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0753ZVDVG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_foaHCb5Y2R4YA

Once the car is dirty again you'll never see it anyway ..... Maybe when something more serious happens I'll get it done properly lol

May have one last go someone said to me to heat it then spray air out of a can on it to heat shock it back into shape....

That looks pretty damn good to be fair!

I'm also thinking of a remap on my 184 Hp front wheel drive.
I have Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 3 all round and if you try hard you can spin the wheels but normal hard driving in the wet I find it very shore footed

There the tyres I have. Think the tears are starting to step as there getting quite loud, fronts have around 2.4mm left after 28,000. So not bad really. Should have really swapped them around last year but never mind

Also just had mine done, water pump, timing belt and auxiliary belt done at my local specialists, all genuine parts for £350 was quoted from Audi £500

That’s a very good price

Left car with Indie (Afor Audi) in Glasgow this morning for air con service and haldex gauze filter clean.

Very convenient for city centre workers like me - park car in Qpark in city centre. AfA have a small reception/office next door and car is taken and delivered back.
My family has used these guys for their Audi’s for years and always a first class service

Haldex serviced. Exhaust valves configured open and and a whole day of detailing. Spent the evening looking for remaps stage 1.

Travelled down from Leeds to London yesterday for @DJAlix to retrofit the Audi Sound System (***) as my sportback only had the standard speakers. I remember reading a thread on the differences, and the best way I can describe it is feeling that the sound is "complete". The bass is amazing and by adding the center speaker, the quality of the sound is there! Happy customer. Thanks for the quality advice and going beyond to resolve the lighting issue with my car.

Well done! I like the Florett Silver. I chose a nano gray, but I considered the florett seriously. My wife wanted a little darker, so I ordered nano. Your car has the same wheels as I'm going to get with mine. I considered dipping them in anthracite, leaving parts of the spokes silver. When I saw your picture, I couldn't resist and play with an image editing program. The result is below. I hope you don't mind me sharing an altered image of your car. Let me know if you think that I violate your rights and I'll remove it.

Soon after I got the A5 coupe I said to my nephew if you can work out how to get it into gear you can drive it, he said easy, so I gave him the keys and off he went....he didn't know I'd had a ghost system installed! so it just stayed in P :D

More than welcome :)

For anyone wondering the lighting issue was a poor footwell lighting retrofit completed by another company using twisted joins + tape, a +12v wire jammed in with a fuse and an earth to a bolt random bolt under the dash with no loop on the end.

Got some S3 specific floor mats, changed the Haldex fluid and cleaned the pump screen.
Screen was approximately 15% "clogged" after 25k km (15k mi).
Oil was nasty -- glad I changed it.

AFAIK - not unless you are going to catch the oil and recycle it - which I wouldn't hesitate to do if I were you and had a clean catch bucket and a vacuum pump to put it back in. The pump uses the oil (so it is bathed in it) and so if you remove the pump, much of the oil will come out with it.
