Powder coating should be the best option regarding longevity, I guess. I can't comment on the "pretty cheap" as the labor price is very high in Denmark while everyone can paint with a rattle can. I considered plastidip, but then I read good feedback on Motip paint that is inexpensive and durable, so perhaps I go for it.

Looks exactly as I wanted to do my car. What paint did you use? Did you use any primer under the paint?

Just regular black plastidip. I wanted the option to remove it when I sell the car in a few years.

All my badges were dipped 7 months ago and they are still perfect.

Not a great photo, but this was how mine looked powder coated. Gloss black.

No, just regular black with no extra coatings. Thought about the glossifier but I kinda prefer a matte finish.
Speaking of the matte finish. The plastidip on your tips look almost the same, or may be a little more glossy, as the rear diffuser. Is that right? I will have to paint an S3 rear diffuser in black when I will upgrade the rear end to the S3 look and I'll need to find black paint or dip of the correct level of matte/satin/gloss. What do you think if I plastidipped the diffuser, would it look close to the oem if we speak of the matte/gloss finish? Could you compare your diffuser color with your dipped tips?

I haven't used the glossifier so it probably looks like that in the picture only. I wouldn't put too much attention to it, as the tips are party visible and the finish won't matter. I do recommend you get a few coats to make it last though.

Regarding the diffusor, you would definitely need to use a few coats of glossifier to get it close to oem, that one is black glossy plastic.

I have a S-line black optics package, so I can see the color of the diffuser, but is the S3 the same? I think I'll stick to my previous idea and paint the diffuser in Motip semi-gloss black with the high gloss black trim.

Hey guys can someone please help me. I have a a3 saloon 65plate, I want to fit a rain/light seonsor and the light switch with auto function.i already have the anti dazzle rear view mirror and I have a humidity sensor. I know I will need a rain sensor, and the light switch and a gel pad? but will I need anything else? Also how do I get the light switch out and when I install the auto switch is there any additional wiring apart from coding on VCDS? Please help guys thank you

Where are your doubts from? Black mirrors look great on a white car. May be you should black out the window trim too.

I was thinking the same. The wheels are getting done next in smoke chrome or black chrome.

To de chrome the windows and grill will cost £240.

Ouch, I'm paying £140 to turn chrome intakes, side intakes, mirrors and rear spoiler on my S5
Chap in Birmingham, getting done in 4 weeks time.

Had my mirrors wrapped gloss black yesterday. Not sure if I like it.

I replaced my washer jets with the misty ones from the A6. Simple yet extremely satisfying.

One of the first things I done on our S3.......for the cost and ease of work, it was a no brainer.

Do you know if these fit on S5’s as well? I did this mod to my S3 but noticed since changing cars how bad the S5’s washer jets are...

My brother is looking to do the same with his A5 S line. I’ll keep posted.

Edit: I’ve just googled about a bit and it looks as if they do. Google ‘fan washer jets for audi s5’ and you’ll get the info.

The better half has taken delivery of her new car, it’s surprisingly nice inside, not a bad run around at all.

Media, air con etc is all controlled via touch screen which isn’t the easiest to use on the move.

I'd be shocked if they didn't fit. My A4 also have them fitted from the factory, so we know for sure that they work on the A3, A4 & A6. Bound to work on the A5.

Might try it and order another set, forgot to take my old ones off my S3 before it went, best and cheapest mod I ever did to that car

Finally got around to get my window trims and mirrors wrapped in gloss black. It looks soooo much better now with my new black wheels. The car could be cleaner but that's not what this is about ;)

The small silver parts on the grills will be dipped this week so I'm ready for the next VAG meet on Monday.

Quite funny to see how much the car has changed since I got it :rockwoot:
