Got around to fit my Maxton V.2 splitter. Looks very aggressive - love it!

And this time it will never come off the car (I've used 8 bolts and 10 plastic screws to fasten it...)

Directly to the bumper underneath. I just thought "**** it" and did it properly and screwed and drilled into the painted bumper. Yes I might be mad but after the other splitter got loose I'm not taking any chances here.

And not a pain, just took a few hours to do it properly :)

Nothing like good old nuts and bolts to hold something together.
Always a bit weary on using glue and other adhesives, just doesn’t feel secure enough.

Same here. And with me previous splitter I didn't want to drill in the painted bumper parts which resulted in a splitter that got loose and destroyed because it bent down and hit the ground. A lot of bolts and screws are the only proper way to fasten it.

Watched a video on YouTube on someone fitting the front splitter and they did exactly the same, self tappers all the way along underneath with bolts in between them that was supplied with the splitter, your car looks awesome!!! I love the fl front bumper it looks so mean compared to pre fl!!

Looks great! Did you manage to paint the fog grilles too? You mentioned you were goig to. They look glossy on the picture, that's why I'm asking.

Nope, not yet! Think I'll start with just the small silver stripe and see if I think that looks okay. Waiting to get my new wheels on, hopefully tomorrow, then I'll consider moving onto the other small projects :)

Can't wait to see your new wheels fitted.
As to the fog grille painting, I mentioned before that I bought a replica of the RS3 grille. The grille will be gloss black. My car has a black optics which is satin black with a gloss black stripe. I was thinking of options: to make the fog grille gloss or, which I didn't see done before, paint the RS3 grille satin black but leave the surround glossy.

Dropped the roof box on for a weekend away without wifey or kids, camping and mountain biking in the Purbeck hills in Dorset with an old mate and fellow S3 owner (don't see many in Floret Silver - he's got a good 'un - needs to get on top of his exhaust tips and detailing regime though - shocking, lol).

The S3 Sportback with roof rails is a ruddy versatile motor - big(ish) heavy poly-cotton air-frame tent and all my camping clobber, plus a bike thrown in the back with the rear seats down (plenty of sheets used!) and room to spare. Weather was....interesting....but that made the biking more fun. Great weekend, good company, lots of pub food and decent ale, and a very nice bit of England's green and pleasant land to visit. We only managed 25k of biking (+ a few miles of walking to the pub and back in the evenings), but in that weather, and climbing some steep hills off-road (we climbed about 2,000 ft) was more than enough for my old legs. The quick downhill bits were fun though! Knackered, but in a good way

We've agreed on a road trip to Le-Mans next year - looking forward to that. Anyone on here planning on heading across?

Cracking write up there @Jimbob76. Location looks stunning, and love how you maximise the use/storage of your S3 with roofbox, they are useful bits of kit. Used to take the kids surfing, and just chuck all wet stuff (not the kids every time) in the box.

Did have a gen1 Q5 which is long gone, but roof box remains

Cracking stuff! Love the look of the S3 with the roof box. Makes the car very practical still.
Not heading to Le Mans, but booked 3 weeks off over Christmas and NYE to go to Germany with my S5. Still planning what to do currently!

I know I know.... But I just think it looks a little off with the chrome/silver details together with the black wheels. But since you're asking you can take a look at the below teasers.

The last picture is obviously photoshoped but you'll get the idea. I'll get the car dechromed at the end of this month. Then you'll see a lot more pictures from my side :thumbs up:

Nothing exciting, but the new windscreen I got fitted a couple of months ago now has a bullseye chip size of a pound coin - gutted! Getting repaired Thursday (although still not convinced it’s totally repairable).
Also booked in for the rear two tyres to get replaced. Original Pirelli’s lasted over 26k miles.

Autoglas called this morning to say they had a slot today, therefore turned up 24 hour earlier than planned.
All done now and repaired. Not 100% invisible due to the nature of the damage but it's well out of eye line.
Had to cool windscreen as the surface temperature was 34 degrees (in Scotland!!).
    Good service from them again.

I love the stance with the sportlines. I wish they were as comfortable as the pros.

There is a black sportback parked tail to tail behind your white saloon. Its rims look grey which is unusual for rims of this design. Do you know if they were painted?

2014 S3 Imported from Japan after a massive accident. Am repairing a number of issues caused by water ingress. Wheels have been refurbished, no idea on the colour but everyone who pops over for works comments on them.

Yup! It’s a project that’s being worked on in between jobs in order to keep the costs down for the owner, and as I am run off my feet progress is slow going but most issues have been resolved, just need to get it started now.

Can't comment on longevity of paint but I had my S3 tips powder coated and after a year were still like brand new. In my opinion (with no actual practical knowledge in this area) it seemed to be the more long lasting option and pretty cheap.
