I've seen a petrol A3 Sportback with DSG advertised including the phrase:

    Black *asm*

I'm not sure if there's a comma missing between the Black and asm. Another vehicle in the same place has:

    Black *nav Disc Present*

So I suspect that asm is a separate feature but I'm not sure what.

Is it a bit of an arcane acronym for something or am I having blonde moment?

Active stability management / Audi Stability Management

    otherwise known as:

    "Aaaaaargh! -SAVE ME!!!"

    :sos:

By the way, you want one with 'organic paint' as well as the stability program.

-this would be listed as "Org./asm".

    Thanks, rofl.

ASM is a Porsche technology isn't it?

    I had a look in a 2007 brochure I have and found;

"Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), including ABS, EBD, ASR and EDL"

    ABS: Anti-lock Brake System
    EBD: Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
    ASR: Traction Control
    EDL: Electronic Differential Lock

Could be what the advertiser meant although it's std fit on all A3s and other A3 ads didn't mention it.

Porsche is "PSM", -Porsche Stability Management, or "Please Save Me!"

..It's all "alphabet-soup" nowadays, no matter which manufacturer you deal with!
