hello guys audiNoob here
im looking to buy a 2002 a4 tdi 2.5 v6 quattro DIESEL
i have seen one just need advice/input on 3 points
1- from cold_>10 mins the tickover i can feel it inside car , i expected it to be smooth being a v6 , normal ? its just had belts done so he said , i think timing may be out a tooth
2- starting car COLD ,after 10mins there was like a whiteish smoke under oil filler cap . normal ?
3- the coolant expansion tank BOTTLE was very dirty/black looking , . normal ?

i really want a tdi quattro but these issues give me concern , or am i worrying for nothing

I'm inclined to agree.
Unless you can get a lot off the price, its not worth the risk. They may be simple and cheap to fix... But they could also be very expensive.

1 - Difficult to tell, could you feel a heavy vibration through the gearknob when idling? This could be down to the dual-mass failing, a failed engine mount. The belts need to be done perfectly on these engines, along with the timing of the fuel pump - needs to be done by someone who knows what they are doing.

2 - Normal if not excessive - usuall evaporation from oil - ensure there is no excessive blow-by from the oil filler.

3 - Hard question, may just be dirt.
