Haha! To be honest my car is so filthy at this time of year, it upsets me to look at it!

Come the summer i'll be perving all over it I'm sure!

    1. Guess how many litres to fill the tank, and start filling.
    2. Look for swirls scratches and reflections in the paintwork.
    3. Surreptitiously look at the person who is faffing around whilst filling up their car. There is always one
    4. Wonder if I could get away with hiding all the disposable plastic gloves that the diesel drivers use; just for a laugh
    5. Check how close I was to my guess in #1.
    6. Look at cost of filling tank and swear
    7. Forget the pump number before I get to the till to pay.

I stand there with a superior look on my face, pitying all the plebs who would give their right arms to drive a car like mine. But only until an A4, A5, A6 or A7 pulls on to the forecourt...

And this evening I just felt sorry for the lady who had just filled up her Mercedes A class with the wrong fuel. Fortunately, she hadn't started it and told me that in any case she was covered by Mercedes for any such eventuality.....

It's obviously done to induce better cleavage. Or for the ladies, better butt tension in the men.

Glove but that's cause it's a diesel pump although out of habit I put a glove on for the wife's petrol Polo now too.

    no glove either
Last day I filled about 80 Litres of diesel (including some extra fuel tanks I had in the boot)
made a really big mess in the boot floor but luckily the rubber matt saved me. (money well spent)

I just love to sniff the smell of Gasoline or Diesel while filling up.

Hate the smell of diesels, when it gets onto my hands I just think it'll make my steering wheel stink, good job I haven't got one then. Anyway, what do I do when filling up, mmm, not sure if I can answer that as I cannot remember what I do, it is such a mundane and boring task my brain switches off and gets strangled by my colon...

Anyone elses fuel cap let out trapped air when it opens? Sounds a bit like the flux capacitator?

Someone snapped a shot of me at the station :whip:

Me, too! Yet still I feel the moment of panic and cold sweat when I initially squeeze the trigger. Paralysed by the certainty that I'm filling with the wrong fuel! Once bitten......

Always park at the far left or right pump, that way you don't have any idiots pulling along side and opening their door on you :)

    Are you a dwarf then?

Get amazed at how far apart my visits are. I last filled up 3 weeks ago and still have 100 miles left on the range.

Make sure I choose the single lane pump then step over the diesel soaked sand piles caused by idiot BMW drivers. Then spend ages trying to get my cubcard to scan.

Slightly different routine for me nowadays following the new Shell App. So I drive up, start the App, use he scanner to scan the pump QR code. Then i fill up with V-Power making sure I check out any talent at the other pumps whilst doing so. I then get in, check the App has correctly registered the right sale amount and drive off. Then i spend the next few minutes feeling as if i've done a full and run as it seems weird.

Of course I do the other things, such as check my car for marks and swirls etc while i'm filling up. I'm a 'no gloves' kinda guy too. Wondering if the glove brigade also have a pet monkey called bubbles? Chamon!

Check the nozzle colour... trace the hose back to the pump and make sure, again, it is nitro+ petrol. See how much more diesel has been sold than petrol (small counter on pump)... Look to see what else is in the forecourt... See how much p/ltr is over standard petrol... Calculate when I'm gonna be back again - normally 7 days!

I noticed someone had dinged it in a carpark! :(
It's extremely tiny and hardly noticeable but still annoying after only 12 weeks!
I always check out the beautiful lines though...and any other beautiful things I can see.
