Now I'm an IT guy. I design and test programs. Like, consulting, you know. But before that, I happened to be a trucker. Tough job for sure. Of course, it's cool to cross countries, see new places. But when your day is 12 hrs driving and 12 sleep then it starts to irritate pretty soon. Once I had to buy a new semi-truck. And it was uneasy. Finally, I found this site https://www.truck1.co.uk/used/semi-trailers but actually I almost lost the job because I couldn't get a new s-t before new delivery.

Cool,I drive a rigid for Brogan Fuels/Certas Energy down in the borders

What depot?

I used to do some bridging work for Certas through FTS, done St Boswell’s, Coldstream, Wooler, Dumfries etc

The guys I spoke to on the wheelers were happy enough, I love what I do now - mostly Esso/Sainsburys filling stations, compared to FTS it’s a walk in the park.

In 2010, due to family difficulties and not able to find suitable work, I started my own small business working from home. It's now flourished and expanded... don't earn huge amounts of money but it's sure better than being on benefits
Agreed. Good attitude.
