I picked up my A3 a week or so ago. No idea what to do with these badges? Anyone got any suggestions?

I’m not bothered so much about the A3, it’s the TFSI and definitely the 30 I hate

If you like them keep them, if you don't like them then use a old credit card or similar and peel them off. Then use some degreaser to get the glue off.

Warm them up slightly with a hairdryer then use dental floss to remove the badges like cutting cheese
Clean off any residue with s mild APC then apply polish/wax.....job done

I wouldn't remove the A3 and don't mind the tfsi.. But the 30.. Yeh. I'd be tempted to remove.

If the car is new, why didn’t you order the badges to be left off?
Even if the car was in stock the dealer would have whipped them off for you.
Anyway - as said - hairdryer, dental floss/fishing line.

Take care removing left over residue.
If you rub hard, any grit in there will leave some swirling.

Use dental floss method as described and use Goo Gone to remove the adhesive...an A3 with a 3.0 well that is a stretch of imagination and laughter.

Because I didn't know it was there until I picked it up. The new naming system had only just been sorted (in the week from signing to collecting my car price had increased £350 - which was waived) which resulted in them sticking a 30 on.

I really hope they’re not going to stick a “50 TFSI” badge on the S3.

Now, that WILL be coming off. Pronto! Lol

Haha yeah. To be honest I don't mind the idea of categorising the cars. I suppose it's usefull if you want to go compare cars. But I wouldn't want the badge on the car.

But if you're buying a car surely it will still say like 180 PS instead of A3 40?
So yeah I don't really see the point.
I want to know what cars will be 60/70 without being an S or RS.

Someone's getting paid too much for doing a terrible job, that's for sure. Suckered into providing a pointless and barely relevant numbering system like bmw and mercedes.

Audi must be planning to charge for the de-badge option as that box is going to be ticked on many orders.

Audi have been using the output badges in Asian countries for some time now, so we're just falling into line with them. It is roughly the same as what BMW have been using for years anyway. I am sure after a while we'll probably all get used to it and think nothing about them..

That is a rubbish engine designation. It will not see the light of day in North America as all models such as the A3 come in only two or three power plants.
The standard engine is the most powerful offered in the range and then S and RS engines...no diesels offered. Mercedes is simillar and BMW offer maybe two base motors and then M series

You can't remove them now surely since you've purchased the car on PCP?

If they are omitted on 5he spec that would obviously be fine.
I think he means modifying the car once he has it. But I would not think something as minor as removing the badge (particularly as Audi will omit as an option anyway) would matter.

Edit - but it might if you mess it up !

I meant as Richard said, once you've agreed to the contract the car has to be handed back in the state that it was purchased in. You're allowed to make modifications, at least I am with the dealership I got my car with, but they have to be reversible
