a pug 205 diesel in 1990 with a clutch pedal that needed 2 feet to press it! i hate french cars - they are made from tin and decorators caulking. and were probably assembled by a woman.
An 02 plate Renault Clio 1.2 4 years ago, was quite a good car to learn in, very easy to parallel park, but as it was a 3 door, and i am quite a tall chap, it was difficult for me to get into a comfortable driving possition! Still, i only needed 14 lessons before i managed to pass my test in it, so i didn't have to bear it too long.
I can't remember for sure - it was so long ago. OK, it was 15.5 years ago. I think it was an F reg Ford Fiesta belonging to the driving instructor. Anyway most of my practice driving was in my mum's D reg Polo Coupe S.
A Brand new 1995 Rover Metro with 5 speed gearbox(ooooooh) registered on 1st August, my test was on 4th August, and I only had 1 hours tuition on the day of the test in the said car. I passed 1st time and was the first person to pass in the car!
1990 H reg 205 diesel in 1992. Passed while mum and dad were on holiday. Rang mum's car leasing company, told them I'd passed and had 2 weeks of fun until they came home
They were a good car in the 1970s, provided you got a 1850 or a Sprint. A pal of mine bought a 1973 L-reg 1850 for £150 when we were students, & we hammered round Edinburgh's cobbled steeets for years, mostly sideways.
