What car did you have before S3? and what next?

Just interested as to what everyone had before, and more importantly what the step up is!?
I came from a MK4 1.8t, whcih i had for a month as it was so dissapointing. i have owned adn built two of the fastest MK1 clio's in the UK, one which 1/4's in 14.4 and one in 14.1, whcih for a FWD N/A car is awesome!
I'm thinking of the porsche route next, but the boxster is always gonna be classed as the poor mans prosche adn the carrera's are to expensive!
 
Before my S3....52' plate Renault Clio 1.6 16v

After.......The new S3 or RS3...!!!! But i am so impatient i may change before they are released!!!

 
Since I passed my test in 1988

1988 - Fiesta 1.1 MK1
1991 - Fiesta 1.1 MK2
1993 - Renault 19 1.4 TS
1997 - Escort 1.8 Si MK5
2001 - Golf GTI 1.8T 150 MK4
2004 - S3 225 2002
Next - I'll keep the S3 for 3 years so who knows
 
since passing in 2000, ive had

Rover 214Si (1yr)
Ford Focus 1.8 zetec (3yrs)
Audi S3 (6 months)

next.....

dont know planned on keeping the S3 for 12-24 months but at the moment theres nothing in my mind to replace it.

I had a Mk4 Golf GT TDI before te S3. Excellent car, would highly recommend one.
 
I had a VW Golk Mk3 GTI before my S3.

No plans to change my car in the near future.

Keeping the S3 for a while, but will look at the S3/RS3 when they appear.
 
Before the S3 I had a 1989 Golf 1.8 Automatic!

Don't have any plans to get rid of the S3 but think it deserves a friend...

1.8T 150bhp A3 2001 (facelift) (2 years)
1.9TDI 100bhp Mk4 Golf 2002 (18months)
1.8T 210 S3 1999 (5months)

Will only change the car for 2 reasons;
I can afford the RS3... when it comes out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Or if I have to downgrade for finacial reasons... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

New RS3 is the one in mind



 
Not got an S3, but previous cars are:

1st car was a 1.2 Nova (oh the shame /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
'87 Honda CRX (i miss that car so much!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif)
several company car Focas' (should the plural be Focai?/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif)
and current 2002 A3 TS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/froggie_red.gif

No idea what my next car will be, unfortunately due to the "driving experience" of larger Audi's, I may need to defect to another brand. Then again a friend of mine may be selling his MTM'd RS4 soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif
 
2001 - 106 Rallye 1.3 100bhp - Well fun little car
2001 - 2002 106 1.6 XSi - Really fun again, modded alot of things on this!
2002 - Present - Audi A3 1.8T...started out standard... couldnt be any further from standard anymore! Soon to be the most powerful and quickest A3 in the UK! (i think anyway!)

Last car was a Golf Rallye G60.

Just bought the S3 so will be keeping that for a couple of years at least.

Its going to have to be the dodge viper soon, but I think maybe one more car first!

I have had in this order:

a 1978 Mini
a 1972 Hillman Hunter (I kid you not!)
a 1985 Fiesta 1.3 ghia
a 1994 Astra 2.0 CDX
a 1998 Astra 1.8 CDX
a 2001 210bhp S3
a 2002 225bhp S3
a 2001 S4

I've now got a fully loaded Misano red RS4 which is my best car to date by far. I do admit however that the S3 was a very hard car to replace.

What's next? Job dependent I'd say. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
Since I passed my test:-

1991 - Opel Kadett/1991 - Austin Maestro 1.3 (cheap for insurance!)/1992 - Cavalier SRI/1992 - Rover 216 Vitesse/1994 - MG Maestro Turbo (very fast car)/
1996 - Ford Fiesta 1.1/1998 - Corsa SRI/1999 - MR2 Turbo/2000 - 106 diesel/2002 - Saxo VTR/2003 - A4 1.8T QS (woo hoo!).

Since 1996 have owned two cars and still have the Saxo and the VTR.

Would have bought the S3 however really need the space of the 4 door and boot. Looking to upgrade to an S4 or RS4 dependant on funds...

AUDI is by far the best though I did fall in love with the Maestro Turbo (Don't knock it til you've tried - You'll find one running 1/4s in 12s which has the title of fastest FWD in England)

 
Previously..well still...A BMW 318ti

And the next will be in about 6-8 months, which will either be a tweaked Boxster S, a used 911 or an M3 and a Jeep for the weekends in the sand.

last was a volvo 850 T5 estate - but i did have it upgraded (of course) to 315hp, full suspension, anti-roll bars etc

surprised a few golf gti and others at the lights, and even in the bends!

s3 now - (already done suspension, Revo, ARBs, brakes on the way, satnav, andymac sub and phatnoise in already)

s3 with big turbo next

after that - new rs3 or rs4 when they arrive or keep the s3 with big turbo and get a tvr for sunny days

I'd really like the 350Z. I'd get one tomorrow if they didn't only have two seats. Next, I'll be looking at things like BMW M3s, Evos, Imprezas, TVRs or if the Ford Focus Cosworth ever surfaces... Who knows?
 
citroen ax 1.5 diesel 94 m (gotta start somewhere!) had it 6 months.
306 d turbo 96n had it 4 weeks before going offroading! oops
nissan sunny 1.4 89g (£320, insurance company messing me around for 3 months!)
rover 200 td 97r (19 months)
toyota corolla g6r 99t (3 years liked it but more speed needed)
s3 225 2002 (love it...)
next wont be for a long time so probably a a4 v6 tdi or whatever they have in them then!
