Nice varied history of cars from people and some very nice looking ones.

My history is kinda all in one place but a long story which I'm not gonna go into. The 3 pictures below are of how the cars looked before they all ended up in bits. My first cars I crashed. I still miss these cars to this day and would do anything to have them back :( but as a daily driver I love the A3, just wish I had time and money to get a 106 again;

Not gonna bother with any other pictures of information about them. I know they say they don't regret things and we move on but selling up still hurts inside. Especially as they never ended up being sold as a car and just bits. I still have loads of random parts in the loft from them. I love the A3 but always look back at these 3 pictures and just doesn;t have that same 'cool' factor my 106''s had.

I had this for 3 months during early last year when my A3 was off the road;

Front.jpg

Paid very little for it and lasted all over 3months before being sold as a spraes/repairs. Had a few things to sort on it but was all part of a leanring cureve and it also found a new love for old skool Fords. So much so I wanted to go get a decent Mk6 GTi or Si and put an RST engine it (I prefer the looks of the 6 over the 4 and 5.

Anyway that's my history. If I was to buy anything else in the mean time it would be another A3 1.8T (sport or quattro) for messing around with to track.

I love this thread! Anyway, not including the family cars, my car history goes like this (I'm amazed I'm coming clean with some of this but here goes...)
'92-'96 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia (first car and I loved it)
'96-'00 Rover 214Si (really loved this except for the rubbish brakes)
'00-'04 Alfa 156 20.Ts Veloce (bought it new when I got my first job after my PhD. Loved the styling and got my money's worth from the extended warranty...)
'04-'09 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Freestyle (we started a family and up-sized our house... But seriously I loved the handling of this car on a twisty B-road)

'09-current Audi S3 8L (love it but I still can't stop looking through the Pistonheads classifieds...)

Ok so I've only been driving since nov 2005 and I've had a few cars that were all still in good running order when I sold the
. I started with a H reg red metro, 3 dr, manual choke, 1.1.
Then on to a 1.3i 1994 layman blue 5dr fiesta.
Then a big red 1994 1.8td escort estate.
1.7d red 1994 astra.
Then back to my escort.
Then a 2001 silver 1.8 16v vectra which my mum now owns.

Finally I now have my 1999 1.8t AGU A3 :)

looks like i'll need to update my first post lol,

well looks like i cant edit my first post so in order i had a nova 1.3 SR as my first car at the age of 17, a nova GTE at 18, my GSI at 21 and my S3 at 25

Prior to the S3 I had a ~160bhp 750kg 205 Rallye:

With this in it:

1.6 8v TU with QEP head, cat cam, Jenvey bodies and the best part, a Quaife box that topped out at 115mph @ 7500. Group A suspension etc. It was essentially a GTI underneath. Later moved to SF bodies to match the port spacing on the head better:

Sounded the part too:

Was an awesome car but the S3 is a completely different league.

I did start building a 306 track/race car with a turbo 2.0 16V but went travelling instead. Here's some pics anyhow:

Loads of BTCC bits, fully rebuilt engine with forged rods/crank/pistons, stack dash etc etc. Never finished it and decided to move to Australia instead. Don't really regret that!

I had a crappy black Rover 200 1.6si bubble shape, but the first car i had at 19 was a Mk2 VW Golf 1.6 that i stupidly let the scrap man have for 20 quid because i had a company van at the time and the vw was sitting on the drive and i remember having alot of grief from the old dear about it, the alloys and exhaust were off it before it went though, miss that car though :(

I'll list the cars I've owned for more than a week in chronological order,

C plate Renault 5 1.4 TSE (first car) that used more oil than petol, no really, it had no gasket from the block to the sump so leaked everywhere lol.
J Plate Rover 416 SLi Honda Engined beast.
G Plate Vauxhall Cavalier with a MK2 SRI engine (worst car ever and will never ever own a vauxhall again)
J Plate Rover 216 Si Bought as I missed my first Rover (these were hona engined so no chocolate heads) funnily enough head gasket went on this one.
N Plate Primera 1.6LX Miserable car no power no torque no fun but it got me from Derbyshire to Cambs everyday without fail for a few months.
04 Seat Leon Cupra first new car and will never buy a new car again, lovely car and my first taste of b00st. unmodded and later crashed into a horrible mess.
1995 Honda Prelude 2.2VTEC silly car 4ws and VTEC on twisties makes for an "interesting" proposition until you get used to it. Was silly loud as bought off a young lad with the biggest exhaust you can imagine.
1999 S3 spent more than Ipaid for the car in less than a year of ownership but I still don't want to sell it, yet.

ive had 2 preludes! one was a bb1 (with 4ws) and one was bb4 (lightweight hardcore model!)

absolutely fooking loved my bb4 to death! was silly fast aswell, touched 160mph with a few choice mods!

Looks like my old SR, though mine was a 1.3. They may get a lot of flack off people the old nova's but I loved mine and it was well reliable too...

Before the S3 I had an A3 1.8T and before that a series 1 face lift Clio 1.8 16v which was the best handling car I've ever owned.
