Seems like some of us took advantage of the break in the weather today...well l did....first time this year l actually got the chance to use a drying towel on the car...
Finally got round to trying the KC Green Star & BH Auto foam & BH Auto wash. Impressed with the green star but found the Auto foam not very thick. I used 200ml in my foam lance which is what I normally use when using AF Avalanche as for the Auto wash it’s ok but nothing special I used 10ml of that. First time in ages that I haven’t used a drying aid either & was a lot quicker to dry.
BH auto foam isn't mean to be thick, is a lot thinner than most snow foams. What it lacks in foam makes up for in raw cleaning power, which I'm sure plenty on here will agree with. I use it in about a 1:10 ratio. Sent from my HD1913 using Tapatalk
Polished a bird **** mark off the wife’s car. Been There for as long as i dare to remember but i bought a machine polisher for the first time and thought i would give it a go. Worked a treat. Shame i only polished that bit, rest of the car is minging dirty. will save that for another day.
@Adam14 the problem I find with most detailing discussions is people always say what ratios they use but don’t say what size bottles there using. I know you can work it out but it would make things a bit easier for others to compare.
Not about the bottle size, more about the missing ratios and how much liquid is dispensed with snowfoam Lance. Best thing to do is fill your bottle with say a litre of water, then spray all of that into a bucket and measure. For me, 1litre ends up dispensing 19L. A bit confused what a bottle size has to do with a ratio? A 1:10 ratio is the same whether you put it in a 1L bottle or a 10L bucket. My mums Mini needs about 300ml total to clean it so I do 50ml snowfoam to 250ml water, a 1:5 ratio. My car I use 600ml total so 100ml snowfoam to 500ml water, also a 1:5 ratio.
I know that & I know how to work out the ratios for myself but some people do struggle with it. It would just make it easier for others to copy what works for others.
Didn’t really like the BH snow foam. Tried all different ratios but it never lasted more than a couple of minutes before it was almost completely off. Even when the car was dirty did not seem to do much. Maybe because the car is coated in cqaurtz 3.0 who knows. I started to use the BH ph shampoo now in my snow cannon, this is superb. Sticks on the car like shaving foam and I leave it on while I wash the car with the wash pad. Seems to provide a much cleaner and quicker wash without having to rinse all the snow foam off before the contact wash. Just my experience.
Not a fan at of bilt hamber snowfoam.....for winter ....only use in the warmer months.....where dwelling time is far less than in the winter

Not detailing but booked the A3 in for its major service next month. Only posting this because booking through www..bookmygarage.com I've got the service for £252 instead of £345. Even though it's the same main dealer . Nice little saving eh
Used this on my wee mums cars...was caught between a rock and a hard place during the week for next day delivery only got to use it as a drying it....was ok to be honest but...l prefer using the Fireball coating wax...beads the same and easier to buff...and it's for other folks cars it won't be applied to mines lol

I like the Kranzel K7 but not the price. Could any advise on an alternative pressure washer? I've found a company "direct hoses" that sell all black 9 car retailers pack which seems reasonable. Any other ideas? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Most on here have a Karcher K4, reasonable price and does enough for keeping on top of you car, although think Jassy has gone through a few of em so isn't the biggest fan Had mine for a year and can't complain Sent from my HD1913 using Tapatalk
I had a K5 Premium thAt lasted 9 odd years, but replaced with K4, as @Adam14 says, does the job and pretty reasonable for the price.
So yesterday I gave the new (to me) S4 its first proper wash - this is before I spent 30 mins trying to properly clean the pipes which are in a poor state. Don't reckon the previous owner cleaned them for months. OOO steel wool and Autosol hardly touching them! Also, I had a good laugh at the "Gardx" pack (Yep, they claim to have treated it - I didn't want it - and didn't pay for it) which includes gems such as: - a jumbo sponge! - the amazing "protection conserver". "just mix 3 capfuls with 2 litres water, apply with soft sponge, and leather dry" - and bingo. Job done! - "wash and wax". Same instructions as above! - bird dropping remover" - ok that might actually be useful - microfibre cloth "millions of microfibre filaments remove dirt without scratching" !
I use the kranzle compact model, absolutely spot on. Have this with a 10m pressure washer hose I had made online by a pressure washer company and bought a mtm gun and foam cannon with quick disconnect’s.
Haha, yes that stuff is cr*p. Dealers to make all their money on this stuff. Picked up the wife’s new mini yesterday and there was a bloke doing the final Paperwork before collection and salesman confirmed he had alloy, cosmetic, tyre cover, gap insurance and ProtectX (Mini’s version of GardX). He must have paid £1200+ for all that!!
Had the same thing when I came to wind up my late uncle’s affairs, on a Ford Focus. He’d been sold the works!! Couldn’t believe how much he had paid! Surprisingly I got a few hundred quid back on early termination!
@jassyo06 - At last ! How many years have you resisted using Bsd then mate ? Would like to know how much you paid for the Bsd versus the cost of Fireball coating wax Still for the money, Bsd is a cracking product IMO Application tip for the Bsd - Use a damp MF to apply & buff off with a dry buffing MF
Haha.....I’ve a funny feeling @jassyo06 has been secretly using BSD the whole time. He really was setting himself up for some stick once he posted that!
Only used it on my mums car as a drying aid and it's for her car only l paid £9 for it...from Amazon l had a 5 minute time window to order for next day delivery....bsd came up first as a prime next day...so dont get carried away lol
