Nice week Dave , that's a big motor to tackle. Should note though that Poorboy's Black Hole is a glaze . It masks some imperfections but had little to no cut so detent eliminate scratches .
Complete noob with this sort of thing - from quick google seems I will need a polish and wax afterwards? Is this correct and if so should I just get the ones the brand recommends?
Buy a pre wax cleanser Dodo juice lime prime light is a very good one follow its application by the book....ie dont apply too much at a time, dont leave on too long and you'll get excellent results form both the lime prime and yer chosen wax
So ultimate compound > dodo juice > wax? Is there a preferred weather to do this sort of thing in - I'm guessing no wind, dry and overcast?
A proud day - enjoy mate. Good to see some roof box action going on. Kamei are good boxes - roof rails rule Salute’s to your lad
Cheers buster. Aye - back at the homestead. And have this wee delivery to play with when I can find the ankle biters something to amuse themselves with for a few hours....
Thanks guys and @josul is right it is the typing thumb and what a nightmare after you break it. Not sure how but slipped while coming downstairs Thursday night and broke my thumb whilst trying to save my ar*we from getting hurt. Only realised it 10 mins after when I noticed the thumb facing the wrong direction . So, closed my eyes and clicked it back to its original position, which I am really proud of myself . Been advised rest for 2-3 weeks, have another appointment tomorrow as x-rays showed potential damage to ligaments . We'll find out.
Just given my girl a shakedown with Autoglym - shampoo, touch up of polish in certain areas but she is Lifeshined so washes well to start with and tyre dressed.
@Tashfeen - Before any of the guff you've tried on the scuff marks I would have tried a baby wipe. Plain & simple Always find these work for me. A much cheaper way that using bespoke detailing kit IMHO Probs a bit late now as I suspect you've already done 'em Where Have I been? Been away on the caravan for another 9 nights. Away in a fortnight for another 10 nights too @S32B - Easy ... lol
@Tashfeen - Flipping heck mate - I go away for a week & look what happens ! Seriously mate, here's hoping for a quick recovery So we will be seeing a lot more of you on ASN then lol Oh & Dodo Juice Lime Prime is guff - I gave my last bottle away Go for Auto Finesse Rejuvenate - a way much better product IMHO But as we know, 'tis all a bit subjective this detailing malarchy
After a lovely nail in my tyre on the way to work this morning resulted in a whole new set of tyres being required I was in a bit of a foul mood. But gave the car a good old wash after work and think I've just about calmed down now. Any recommendations for products to sort out my exhaust tips? They're looking a bit dull
Autosol and a MF cloth, if they've not had any attention since new (which I'd doubt they would have before you picked it up) then mine came up like new with the above! Now the soot comes off easy enough with simple shampoo. Easy to keep on top of if you tackle them with the big stuff first so to speak. Can see the shine on this pic when I done mine last week. @Jonnie I use 0000 grade wire wool & Meguiars metal polish on mine then buff with a microfibre. https://www.screwfix.com/p/liberon-grade-0000-steel-wool-74-x-225mm/5196f?_requestid=576097 https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs...egoryId=165682&productId=167641&storeId=10001
+1 for Autosol and MF cloth although when I got my car it needed the 000 wire wool treatment first. Some pitting that wouldn’t come out but you have to look closely. Just had time before dark to give the car a quick rinse, shampoo, dry and window/wheel clean ! Due to rain today though
Since switching from the S3 to the BMW 225xe in December car cleaning has been non existent as it’s not been cleaned since Feb!! Anyway a wee delivery on the way from @in2detailing will hopefully get it looking sparkly again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
