Is it somehow possible to get either Waze or Google Maps on the S1 MMI screen? Either directly or via iphone mirroring? I have seen some random stuff about "hacking" the screen but info seems scarce.

The only viable option I found was with a Kivic One - bit last I checked it was discontinued...
And on top of that, you require AMI and VIM.
To do VIM you need Tech Pack which would have sat nav anyway.
If you have tech pack you can also add a SIM to allow integration of Google Earth and online traffic making Waze/Google Maps a pointless addition.
In short, you are best owning an S1 with Tech Pack and putting a SIM in it for the features you are looking for.

I've been reading about the Kivic, looks awesome! Apparently it won't work with iOS 9 though. It's a hardware problem, not software.
