This is something I've been mulling over for a while but would appreciate some thoughts from the experienced on here.

Is there much difference in appearance between the various waxes and sealants you have used. Its clear there are significant differences in ease of application and longevity but what about looks ? If say one half of a bonnet was waxed with product A could you tell the difference between the other side where product B was used.

This then leads on to if you can, why are qd's / spray sealants used by so many as potentially the finish is that of the last product applied rather than the wax or sealant used

Can of worms. All I'll say is this. A wax, sealant or coaing is a Last Stage Product (LSP). It is a sacrificial layer that is there to protect what's underneath. What's underneath is all the prep work and polishing that's gone before.

Most waxes darken the paint tone and by doing so increase the gloss/wet look so pointless waxing a light coloured paint colour like white or silver...etc etc simples

Thanks for that I can understand that sealants are generally recommended for light colours with waxes for dark. Perhaps I didn't phrase my question correctly but what I am looking for are whether there is a noticeable visual difference between say sealant A and sealant B, or wax A and wax B.

As stated above I guess I may be opening a can of worms but you often see posts with statements such as nice wet look, glassy etc and wondered if people were really seeing a difference or as I have a suspicion the real difference lays the polishing

If l where to use R222 on one side of my car and use a brand X Sealant on the other side you'd be able see the difference show waxes are real slick wet looking, especially R222
