Hope you all can help on this one.

i have found a large amount of water sitting in my spare wheel well in the boot. I cannot find out where the water is coming in from.

Any known problems??? Time for the silicon gun to come out again me thinks.....

Hi there, it would help if you put some details of your car either in the post or in your sig etc...

Is it an Avant? Could be water from rear wash wipe?

Seals around the boot? Leaves and muck etc sitting around the boot?

Water getting in around lights? Or the rear fog/ number plate panel?

Try and trace any damp bits of carpet/ trim.... and let us know how you got on.

Thanks for the reply

Its a 2000 A6 1.9TDI Saloon, Getting old now 140K on the clock...... Buts still drives like a dream !

Well, still getting the water problem. Now stripped all the boot out and rear lights off. water is coming in the CD player side. im resealing the lights today. will keep posting the finds !

I found today that there was a rather large gromet missing in the boot floor right over the rear wheel. I imagine that water was flicking up off the wheel through the hole and into the boot.

All sealed. lets see what happens..................

Looks like its coming though the black vents to the bumper. Filler foamed em......... lets see now !

END OF PROBLEM.

If you have water coming in your boot look for the black square are vents. the seal is **** poor. Silicon them or buy new ones. Trouble is you need to remove the rear bumper. !!!!

Another problem sorted. Thanks all
