Want to get my Knob off :-)

I've ordered the Alloy special edition gearknob.does anyone know how you get the existing one off??
Does it unscrew?? and how does the gaitor come off?

Any advice appreciated

Pull the gator and gear stick surround out of its position and pull the gator vertically over the end of the gear stick. You will see a metal ring which attaches the gear knob to the stick. Cut the ring with side cutters.

That ring is commonly used for hose fittings so you should be able to source a replacement from a builders merchants

Nice one! I'll be pulling on me Knob and cutting a ring as soon as it's landed

Be careful though, they're known to be fairly sensitive.
