Great car in the bad weather, probably because it was so heavy with permanent 4WD, 2.8 V6 engine really sweet power delivery.

i had a silver 5 door with all the extras nice to drive but to soft and weights to much and lacks power for a 2.8

I never owned one, but my mate did in my early years of S3 ownership, and boy did we have a lot of head to heads between us. The V6 4Motion was a lazy car, it had lots of torque from low down, it would pull strongly from idle in 4th, all the way to the red line, where the S3 couldn't. My recollection of the traffic light gp was the V6 was quicker 0-30, then when the S3 was in it's stride, it would catch up and sneak past, from 50 onwards.

Nice machines back in the day, but surpassed by the R32, naturally...

I had a Black 3 door 4mo ,superb car surprisingly good on fuel too. Good Tourers. Too heavy to handle well on standard suspension though. Love the noise they make!

Under-rated and often overlooked, they're a proper little R32 but less in-your-face. Don't see them becoming a future classic though, as the R32 outshines it in everyday and is always going to be the one people go for.

Probably less 4mo around than R32. most R32`s i have seen 4 sale have been cat C or D .
Friend of mine bought my 4 mo and has put it into storage, its done 80,000 on a 52 plate.
