Does anybody know if Video In Motion (VIM) can be enabled with the Hidden Menu or is this something that needs VAG COM coding?
I've enabled the hidden menu with Carista App so any suggestions and guides on anything useful/cool that i can do in the hidden menu would be gratefully accepted.

That's good news, thanks. Now to try and find local VCDS help then.

Don't forget to check out the VCDS Map. Where are you based?

A little far from me....100miles!

VCDS map shows your closet VCDS user is in Swindon! That's gonna cost you a fair few beer tokens lol

There's a garage near me that specialise in VAG retrofits, etc. I'll see if they'll do it and get a price, see if that's worth while rather than my time and fuel to and from Swindon!!!

Also worth checking the up coming events (links in my signature) you may find a vcds user attending who’d be willing to help you out

With hidden green menu you can change the mmi welcome logo, if ... you ... like. That's about it.
Joking.
There is more to hidden menu you can do but easily you can mess thing's up. Read about things you can do there before doing anything.
Been warned by one knowledgeable guy and took his advice in. Got Alex from Vag Car Coding to do some tweaks in my car+mmi software and firmware update+latest nav maps.
He's on majority (if not all) audi and vag car meets. Site sponsor also. Great guy and very professionally skilled.

BTW, unless I didn't knew about any particular component being already in my car to enable VIM, he done it with vcds.
Cool feature but be careful with coppers passing by

I'm presuming all i need is the VCDS coding, as when i go to the 'media' page in my mmi and then the 'source' option it actually says SD, AMI and then DVD.
Thanks for tips on the meets as well.

Did you ever get this sorted? I have Carista also but does not seem capable of VIM

No, I haven’t managed yet. I have a mate that has VCDS and we’ve looked through that but can’t seem to see anything that relates to the Video In Motion.

As far as I’ve seen what Alex was doing in on my MMI with VIM, he set it just under maximum speed on the car. It will stop displaying any video when (if) I cross that speed.
Tbh, cannot remember how much it was but it was a lot and I would definitely watch the road driving that fast, not the video.

Alex will be on AITP10 in August.
Tickets still available.

If not, I’m sure there is a lot info where, how find it and activate it online.
