Vcds what tricks can I get and is it worth buying my own kit?

Hey guys I do know a lad who has vcds he unlocked the aux function on my old b6 years ago but his hourly rate isn’t very cheap like most, is it worth buying my own disc and cable?

I want to add needle sweep
DVD and tv whilst driving
I’m not sure if my n/s mirror drops in reverse I moved it once and it moved back on its own but I don’t know what I did
I saw a bitdi on YouTube that had a boost gauge next to the Rev counter?

Can I add boot close with the key?
Any other cool tricks?

I did all of this stuff with obdeleven. It should be ok for you and cheaper. Got mine for about £40

Yes if you have an Android phone you can. I use my Samsung tablet. But I believe they have a new one coming out with iOS compatible

I got the normal one from there website. Take about a week to come

I used the apps (preprogrammed coding) with use credit that u can watch adverts and get 6 free a day or buy some.
Most apps cost about 10 credit
I enabled
boot close from remote
Lap timer/ boost gauge
Rear DRL’s

@James.c I did all of this with Carista on my 2015 facelift Avant. Mine has a fairly high spec so most of the things were already activated.

Needle sweep
Boot close from key & switch on door.
Seat belt chimes off
Fully open pan roof from key rather than just tilt.
Lap timer (pointless really)

There’s loads you can change & you get a 30 day free trial when you buy the Carista OBD plug. Plus you can use it for fault codes & reset them too.

No all you do is press 2 buttons. They have “apps”
Which are basically pre programmed coding

For the mirror to drop in reverse the control knob needs to be pointing at the left mirror

Mine came with efficiency mode. Not tried to enable race mode. But I remember someone saying they enabled it but they couldn’t select it. Sorry can’t be of more help

Yes done that but “race” mode on mine is just comfort mode with a different name

What’s the green line under the speed ? I notice I get a black bar when using the paddles and always wondered what it’s for
