Vcds virgin

As the title says I know nothing about vcds,I have had my faire share of audis over the years and every one of them had there problems so it's time to get me some vcds,
So my questions are
Where do I get it,
How much is it,
Do I just install it in my own laptop and off I go,
And what are the advantages of just having a cheap obd scanner witch i allready have.

It's a tad over £ 260 ish

Install VCDS on laptop. Cable does the rest. It's brilliant

A cheap OBD scanner will only tell you whats going on with the engine. VCDS will allow you to do 95% of everything they can do at the dealers . This may be a lot more than you want.
It's a fantastic tool if you know what to do with it.
