Any one seen this fault code before and any ideas what would cause it. I have looked on RossTech website but can't find anything relating to it. Google also brings up no results. The fault code was originally cleared about 2 months ago on a friends car and has since then appeared again last week triggering the alarm.

Yeah check any wiring to a rear window which houses the sensor wiring as such, its just a circuit breakage sensor ,so if window is broken the integrated kinda antenna like wire is broken & triggers alarm.

Which chassis we talking about here mate?

Its on a 58 plate S3. So these wires/antenna thingies live in behind the B-pillars do they?? Interior trim will have to be removed for invest me thinks so will inform the guy and get him to rip his car to pieces. Cheers Nige.

I recently discovered the same code on my car ( 5 door) but I'm a bit confused.
Is this sensor for the hatch window or for one of the rear passenger doors?

Hatch as no sensors are fitted to the door glass.

Re-opening an old thread but @Brodster did you find a solution to this?
I am currently having the same problem with fault 01403 and cannot work it out.
Any help would be appreciated.
