P261A - 000 - Open circuit - Intermittent - MIL ON

Its on my audi A3 2009 2.0 177bhp any help would be good thanks
where is the pump on the engine ?
is it an easy fix?
do i need to get the pump from Audi?

So you're under the car on a ramp facing the rear directly in the middle with the bottom covers off.

It's just a little black box with 2 water pipes coming out of it. That's on the CBBB engine which is the CR170, probably what you have. I had this fault on my car, but I cleared it and it hasn't come back so I'm putting it down to the ECU doing a brain fart. Are you sure the pump is definitely knackered?

You can get a price from Audi and TPS but Mike @mjr901 will probably be able to beat it.

Thanks got the pump from tps £109.00 +vat fitting it today

what does this pump cool? and what can it cause if not changed

I believe it pushes coolant round the engine after ignition is off...
