Hi everyone,

I ran VAGCOM today and found this fault. I also noticed that when slamming on the brakes there is a noise from the front left wheel. Like an ABS sound.

Address 03: ABS Brakes
Controller: 8D0 907 389 E
Component: ABS/ESP allrad D56
Coding: 04395
Shop #: WSC 00899
1 Fault Found:
18265 - Load Signal: Error Message from ECU
P1857 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Any ideas, thanks in advance.

Nick

The road wheel sensors are known to bring this (or a similar fault) up. It's electromagnetically based, and when the ECU doesn't detect the frequency it expects, it throws th error.

Nothing mechanically wrong IMO, clear it, keep your eye out for the ABS light (obviously trying not to engage it!) and rescan for that fault.

Nice one I will have a go.

Just to add to this thread. Sometimes when I start the car it flashes up the yellow brake light and beeps 3 times.
