I need to ask if there is any way to load seats memory by pressing the button once instead of press and hold.

    Thanks

as far as I know you set the position with one key in your pocket then go get the other key and set the position for that one. did it over 18 months ago it was one of the first things we did.

Yeah just went through the manual late last night and it seems like a standard feature for anyone with memory seats but haven't had time to try it out.

What it looks like you do is with your two keys take one (yours) in to the car, start it up (make sure OFF is not lit up on the doors memory buttons) adjust your seat position to how you want and your passengers seat to their position and store it in memory 1. Then turn off the car engine and lock the car and it will store these positions to your key.

Then with the second key (possibly your partners) open the car, start the engine, adjust the seats for them and you in the passengers seat and store in memory 2 then turn off car and lock with their key and it will store these positions to thier key.

So now when you unlock the car with your key it will automatically move the seats to your position (if they aren't already in that position) and vice versus if your partner unlocks the car with their key.

Really nice feature if it works :)

Oh also forgot to add you also need to goto something like MMI > Car > Car Systems > Vehicle Settings > Seat - and make sure Key Memory or something is turned on.

Thanks @Chobbit for the write up. Must give it a try now.

But my question is remain. How do I load seat memory by pressing button once instead of press and hold.

I decided to drive on economy mode from car systems on full tank to see if I can get more miles out of it but I only got 342 miles averaging 28.9 mpg .

Seems like driving in economy mode with less power doesn't affect on over all average.

I used economy mode for all about 10 minutes and haven't used it since

IMO the throttle response is dangerous........and therefore you end up mashing the pedal to get going, thus not helping fuel economy!

But putting it in Dynamic definitely does!!! (I've seen ~20mpg on a full tank in dynamic - with enthusiastic driving!)

I found most of the modes drop gears very easily, even on moderate acceleration and suddenly you'd be pushing 6000rpm in the middle of the high street WITHOUT mashing the loud pedal.... so I use economy most of the time, but tap it into sport for any junction where I need to pull out at all... and I get anything from 320-400miles on a tank (at the low fuel notification, which is around 50-55litres)... I haven't done the maths on that, but the DIS normally says high 20's to mid 30's..... anything over 35mpg for a full tank requires lots of of disciplined motorway driving.... it's not brilliant, but not too bad for a 1750kg, 375bhp car that has diesel-like torque at low revs, pulls hard to ~7000rpm and does 0-62mph in <5sec :)

Nice car! I like the story of buying it and the works you have done to it.

How is the car for motorway driving? I am going to be driving across Europe for the summer, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland etc, and I am looking to get a comfortable cruiser.

Motorway driving is where you really enjoy the comfort. I'm planning similar trip in summer as well. Especially autobahn

I know there will be a big difference in the petrol and diesel models but I can't imagine my tuned biTDI (set to race mode) in dynamic is much different from yours in day to day driving but I've noticed that on mine Dynamic doesn't seem to use hardly any more fuel compared to comfort unless you really have a heavy foot.

A 100 mile drive out yesterday netted me 48mpg average (helped a bit by 8 miles of 50mph speed limits each way) but most of it was cruising between 80-90mph which has very impressed me greatly, this car is clearly made to be cruise at fast speeds which makes me feel more confident for our euro trip this summer too :D

It's from A5 black edition, big paddle shifts are option. They don't come as standard though

I'd have to agree above always go with the extra rubber if you can or you will end up eventually hating your car that bit more.

3.0 272, not bad MPG when driving in eco, this wasnt anything special either just a mix of motorway speeds, bit of 50 average camera and also some nicer runs, was actually sitting at 61mpg for the first 25 miles on this journey due to the usual M25 traffic!

For the mileage I do, I prefer the extra 100+bhp and 2000rpm ;)

If I reset the trip computer and ease it back and forth between 50-60mph, I can see >40mpg.... but definitely no fun :p
