This might sound like a dumb question, but how do you jack your car to then put it on axle stands?
The Haines manual I have kindly points out axle stands should be used at the jacking point of the car...but then doesn't give any suggestions for how to jack the front of the car to allow you to do that (because you can't use the jacking point to jack AND put under axle stands).
I just wondered what you guys usually do. Usually I use ramps but this weekend I'm fitting coilovers so need to take the wheels off, so no ramps.
I think the only way I felt safe doing it was jacking the back and putting the axle stand under the front on the same side once it was high enough to get under. Not ideal as it doesn't work when you want both sides in the air.
