usb/ipod in glove box

Hi guys brought my 58 plate s3 a few weeks ago now and love it. One thing that is really anoying me is not being able to play my music off ipod/iphone. Its got an rnse satnav fitted with a usb port in glove box. He said it was replaced from a 6 cd changer. Now for the life of me i couldnt get music to work from it. Normal lead didnt work even tried a bluetooth dongle but no luck. I have found a usb stick works but only plays a random 40 tracks. Does anyone know how to get it so i can just plug my phone/ipod in or if someone else jumps in they can use theres? Any help is apreaciated as its doing my nut in lol. Cheers in advance

Pretty sure you can't play back music on an iphone via Bluetooth without a special adaptor. I think it needs to be connected via a wire / lead something like this if you have lightning connector.
