Urgent; save me from Our Lass's music!

Hey everyone,

I have an iPod Classic 160GB which I am trying to play through the AMI using ‘Adapter Interface’ part number 4F0051510R (the one with the red collar). However the AMI doesn’t recognise the iPod and displays the message: ‘is being loaded… ‘ and doesn’t progress any further.

However Our Lass’s iPod Nano 16GB is recognised.

To save me from even more Abba, Bon Jovi and Ed Sheeran than is strictly necessary does anyone know why mine doesn’t play?

At the risk of answering my own question is there some setting that needs changing somewhere or do I need Adapter Interface 4F0051510AG (blue collar); doesn’t matter if Our Lass’s iPod doesn’t play with this one.

Speedy response appreciated to save me from more unnecessary suffering!

Had the same issue myself with my classic 160gb, I was given the red collar cable FOC from the dealer

I ended up buying a cheap cable off the bay, something along the lines of this one:
