urgent help needed

my local breakers have just got a 1998 s4 come in can anyone tell me if the steering wheel will fit my 1995 tdi ....

The best way to tell is by part number. If it starts 4A0 then it should fit but if it starts with 4B0 then it won't. From experience I reckon it'll be a non-starter.

Try and get a steering wheel from a sport model A4 from the same year as yours. It's a nice steering wheel.

mine already has one that looks the same but has a split in it , how easy is it to get the steering wheel number of the one fitted to my car already

It should be fine and what the number of the breaks as I can think of a few thing I might need if they have them.

You'll need to take the airbag off, but you won't need to dis-connect it, to see the steering wheel part no. It is very easy to find. Don't assume that it will fit. I did and I was wrong. You need to check the part no's.
Alternatively, go to your local audi dealer, tell them your chassis no and they'll be able to tell you the part no of the original wheel.
