Just looking for opinions here.

I have an A3 8V Sport which has 17” wheels as standard, 225/45/17 tyres. I’m looking to change to 18” wheels soon, 225/40/18 tyres, but don’t really want to be lowering the suspension quite yet. I’m wondering if anyone else has done this and if it still looks okay as I don’t want it to be looking too high.

I might eventually lower it, but not anytime soon. So until then, I’d still like it to look somewhat decent and not like it’s on stilts.

Shouldn’t look or be any higher as the diameter of wheel and tyre isn’t changing.

As you can see there's not much of a difference:

if you go to a lower profile tyre even if the rolling radius is the same there is an optical effect where it looks higher even though its not changed.
