Upgrading to facelift rear light. Is it just plug and play?

Hi there,

I friend of mine has a Q5 with the old led tail light and we want to upgrade to the new facelift ones.
Do you know if it's only plug and play?
In some forums I read that an adaptor is necessary:

But I think that this is for the ones that come from a regular non-led light.

Can you please help us with that?
