I have recently bought an Audi A3 1.8T Quattro Sport (2000 reg) and really want to upgrade the sound system. As far as I can tell I don't have the Bose system, there is no 6 CD autochanger. A local Audi dealer informed me that it's not possible to upgrade to the Bose system, and that just the standard 6CD auto changer would cost £480 to supply and install.
I need to keep costs as low as possible but urgently require firstly to play CDs, and also ideally to improve the overall power of the sound system, perhaps including fitting a sub. Any advice or offer would be much appreciated.
Is it possible to buy reconditioned autochangers? Or fit an alternative brand instead of the Audi one? Do you know of anyone who can retro-fit the Bose system with a sub for a reasonable cost? Or should I just take out the Concert head unit and fit a whole different after-market system? Please help!
