Hi, I've been considering upgrading the BNS 5.0 head unit in my Audi A4 B7 with an RNS-E unit. The current system has a 6Disk CD Multichanger in the glove and factory fit bluetooth handsfree as well as a phone prep in the armrest.

I was wondering whether:-
- Is the Bluetooth built into the BNS unit or is it an extra module? Is this plug & play with the RNS-E if so?
- Are the multichanger & GPS aerial also plug and play with the RNS-E?
- Once i've upgraded the unit is it simply a matter of using VCDS to configure it? I've got a generic cable and the $99 version of VCDS which can currently 'see' the BNS unit. Will this be good enough to finish the job off?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Bluetooth is a seperate unit, so no changes required there between BNS and RNS-E
No it's not plug and play, the K-line wire will have to be moved along with the BOSE wire, but I don't think you have BOSE.
Yes everything else will work as before.
You may get away with a cheapo VCDS cable if it allows coding over K-line

Thanks for the replies. I do have Bose, forgot to mention this. I'll read round moving the wires.

Thanks!
