Hi all,

My key fob remote locking stopped working a few months ago. No matter what trick I try, nothing! It's very annoying having to constantly use a manual key blade with a newborn to contend with. I'm guessing I need a vagcom specialist? Anyone know of one in Leeds? Wish I had a 2nd key to be honest, but I was told they cost £400?!!! Car is only worth £1,200!

On that last point, what to do with the red TFSI Avant Quattro?? Still drives very nicely but all the wheel arches are badly rusted, the bonnet has lost the lacquer and the clear coat is peeling off the spoiler. I'm guessing these things would cost a fortune to sort. Alloys are porous, so tyres have to be pumped up every week, and the cam belt was last replaced 8 years or so ago (50k miles).

Loathed to part with it, but it could cost a lot to prolong the life?

Cheers for any key advice!

As much as it may be painful you may find it becomes a liability now and a money pit.

Hi. An alternative option might be to buy another tfsi avant ( better one) and keep this as a part donor. That is as long as you like these b7 and have the space to accomodate a spare part car, and your better half will put up with this sort of antics. :D
This is what i did, the wifey wasn't and still isn't happy about it, but it has come handy numerous times not having to search and buy a replacement, just unbolt from the spare car and instal to the daily.
