ok. I am in the West London area and would love to know if there are any members who live not a million miles away, enjoys tinkering on their car, has some knowledge of car mechanics and in the warmer weather would fancy hooking up and giving me a few pointers under the hood. The last time I tinkered with cars it was with Escort RS2000 mk2. A lot of things have changed lol.

i'm not that far away chap, prob 45min drive, pity you don't have the RS now though.

It's been a long time, must confess I actually owned half. Me and a friend brought one to play with. All the usual stuff ,Burton stage 3 head, twin 45 webbers, Kent cam, janspeed exhaust, 2.8 Capri discs at the front, straight stick gearbox, quick rack, rear suspension turreted, Bilstiens all round, single leaf Spring at rear.. Was so much fun. Could strip it all at the roadside with one hand.

Now I have grown up and have an Audi. And changing a bulb means off with the bumper. Lol. That's Progress

I may very well take you up on your offer at some point in the late spring. I remember you told me where you were before so not far at all..

Just would love someone to point some stuff out. It's very compact under the hood. All is fine for now. But noticed what may be a problem.

Between the engine and air box there is what I will describe as a kind of canister with a hose at one end. The other end seems to have a conection rod going to something. Some kind of valve I think. It's quite messy, spotty looking and moist.
