ok so the roads around where I live are a disgrace and my car is already quite low but plan on going a bit lower after winter and I keep catching already so when it's lower will be worrying but I'm wondering if anybody has fitted one of these http://www.ecstuning.com/ES9763/
If so is it worth it and how strong is it, does it protect the expensive bit???

Thats not for an A4 B8 is it ? 1J0 part numbers are for the golf aren't they. And that engine is transverse.

To the OP, look on that site again, there is an aluminium "protector" available for your car, but I don't know if using that would reduce the clearance, so make contact with things sooner than the original cover. (reading this made me look at the ECS site!)
