Tyre Pressures... but at what temp?

Hello.

When I check my pressures, I tend to do so when the car is cold, topping them up to 39 PSI all round for an unloaded car, as per the plate on the door (https://photos.app.goo.gl/RPsYupv5fW5o7ef78).

When reseting the TPMS, it then goes on to read they all tyres are at 37.5. Is this is mismatch between TPMS and my pump?

When I started driving, the temperatures and pressures naturally go up. A lot. Should I aim to get 39 PSI in them when they're hot or when they're cold?

I'd be interested to learn how others approach this.

Set them first think in the morning when cold before the sun hits the tyres as the sun could hit one side first and that would raise the temp in those tyres.

Pump gauges are notoriously inaccurate, I pump mines up and then check with a digital pressure gauge and adjust accordingly , the TPMS display usually matches the digital gauge pretty much spot on

I had thought (well, hoped) that something like this would be accurate: Amazon product. If it's not accurate (guess I'll have to check) then that explains the initial discrepancy.

I’ve always been told to put pressures in when cold, the supermarket I use is about 2.5 miles away.. I make sure to drive there on 30mph roads to keep the temperature down.

I always thought the aim was not to cheat warm weather and put them in before the sun is out, but to adjust them to suit the ambient temperature... so your tyres be at ambient whether it’s 5 degrees Celsius or 25 degrees c.

Always found my TPMS to be pretty much exact to the compressor I use, very rare it’s out as soon as it’s been set.

I read that plate as being 39 front 35 rear or 44 front 39 loaded.
