Just picked up a new S4 running on Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres.

Great car, but the tyre noise is very noticeable. Anybody else found this with these tyres?

also look under my post under Handling, ******** tyre.

Nice car, and can confirm that conti 2's are noisy on my A3 aswell. Not too bad a tyre though both wet and dry, although not the best in the wet.

I really didn't like them. Much prefer the Michelin PS2's and now have Goodyear F1's which are a little better still.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have spoken with my local dealer and complained that this level of noise is totally unacceptable in a new car, particulary one costing this sort of money.

In fairness to them, they have agreed, in fact after I complained, they took another S4 out for a test which also had the conti's on and confirmed what I was talking about.

They are going to try and get me a change of tyres through Audi.

I will let you know the outcome.

good luck mate, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/MexWave.gif

The noise is quite normal - worse on smooth roads.

What other tyres have Audi approved for the S4?

I recently took delivery of my B7 S4 (three weeks ago) in Johannesburg which was delivered with Michelin PS2's which also create a fair amount of road noise.

Noise seems to dissipate over 230kph though and is quite unobtrusive then.
