hi all,

Im thinking my turbo is on its way out. ive done some research and it seems like its pointing towards that.

syptoms:
-whistle noise at top end of rev range.
-coolant needs topping up.
-a lot of white smoke when sat in traffic.

theres no oil in the coolant so im not thinking its an issue with head.

from above does it seem like the turbo is on its way out?

Thanks
Darren

How much coolant is yours using. Asking as I noticed mine had dropped to minimum which I thought strange as didn't notice any do the year before.

its gone down to minimum twice in the last 2 months bud. theres no oil in the coolant bottle or vise versa so not thinking its the head gasket.

with the whistle noise at top end of the rev range and the white smoke from what ive read it does point to it being the turbo.

I noticed a bit of smoke recently, but it was when I took a hard left onto a banking skip road and then floored it onto the motorway. Thought it was probably a bit of collection of oil in my intercooler pipes getting forced through the engine.

Does it smoke on general driving, flooring it, only when warm or cold etc?
