Can anyone recommend an aftermarket removable tow bar or even if one is available?

Many thanks.

Know not a C8 but C7.5 - I got a tow bar fitted and apparently Audi use Westfalia brand - I was going to fit my own via pf jones but chickened out at fitting it myself.
Worked out at £520 for a specialist Towbar company to supply + fit a Westfalia and 3 hrs work - whole back bumper + lights + crossmember comes off ( watched them do it and on a brand was new car frightening as it lay I bits ) - then of course the setting up of the electronics which was another 30 mins.

We use ours to carry 2 x 45 kg Electric Bicycles on a Thule rack to Southern German each year - the removal head is a meaty affair and heavy so up to the job - a good towbar with the electrics swinging up under the rear valance / bumper panel so hidden when not it use.You do need an adapter as it comes with a standard 13 pin socket. Need to check what Towbar requires cutting out the bumper underneath - but unseen.

The Westfalia one has a safety lock arrangement showing green / red so you know it is locked in place plus a locking key so it doesn't get pinched.

The trickery on the dashboard shows a trailer is fitted when the electrics are plugged in and disables the remote boot operation, shows lights are all functioning on trailer, if raining disables the wash wipe if you select reverse and a few other things are disabled ( Know parking sensors on rear on C7.5 were not as they do beep as bikes cover the area )

You can get various CAM Bus wiring looms required for the electrics - the Towbar Company I used suggested fitting a Genuine Audi Part which was only a bit more expensive than the 'one fits all' loom. Was worried too that any mods would effect warranty but had no problems at all.

Not local to you but the Company I used have lots of info.

Thanks for that, very useful... I too was concerned about having the back end stripped off my new car. I have a quote from PFJones and also intend getting one from a local company to see how they compare... will be making sure they have already done a C8 as I don't want to be their practise..

Thanks again.
