Finally pulled my finger out and got shot of my rear model badges. Been meaning to do this for a while.

So much cleaner, almost makes me want to delete the wiper. But I drive it to much for that lol

How did you go about taking the badges off? I'm thinking of removing mine but am paranoid I'll damage the paintwork!!

There's a few methods, I used a hair dryer to heat the badges then eased fishing line (gut), not wire, behind the badge, use a motion as if flossing your teeth, I heard of people using dental floss aswell.

Then clean remains of glue with a tar remover or similar.

As I say, there are other ways, this worked for me.
Job done. :yahoo:

Yup, I would definitely recommend this technique!

Used the same technique as above really, just used dental floss instead of fishing line.

Best thing I found for the glue was a clay bar, makes quick work of it!

Not sure about black rings tho, too much for a white car imo

Holy S***e..... Almost 10 months since my last post.

The Avant is still going strong with regular use in family utility mode, ie packed to the roof, box fitted with dog and baby in the back lol.

Main excuses for lack of posts include;
  • Out of the country with work
  • Moving home
  • and general Dad duties
Unfortunatly this also means the avant has also had little time spent on here. The only things I have done is add fuel, service and wash. :confusion:
