I have just learned that the new B9 S4 is expected to have a tiptronic gearbox. I am unfamiliar with this one, having moved from a B5 manual to a B8 s-tronic. I would love to hear of people's opinions of tiptronic. The s-tronic impresses me with its super-fast gearchanges and I assume that tiptronic boxes are much slower. How much noticeable is it?

I think it's just a name change, it would be a stupid idea to switch gearbox type for the latest model. They should both be the same DSG gearbox, which not only offer fast gear changes, but it makes the car quicker and lowers the emmissions.

Apparently not @jojo looks like Audi are fitting a tiptronic gearbox to the new B9 S4
