Timing belt check

Hi, is there a simple way to check if the timing belt has been changed recently. I’ve got mine booked in next week but having a little look under the bonnet I spotted a little gap where I could see the belt, it looked clean and quite new. Also the coolant looks quite fresh which makes me think the water pump has been changed and the coolant replaced. I’ve only had the car twos weeks

Not really, history is everything. Any receipts? Main dealer may have a record too. A visual inspection isn't a guarantee of belt condition, plus you have auxiliaries too and the water pump. If in doubt change it.
