There isn't a lot of room that's for sure
I know it can be done, but not with this gear.
Tight enough with the GTX3076......

Just doing some reading on Nortech.. looks like a good manifold. larger runners than the TSR as well...
Alex I'm curious just what does your s3 do to the gallon .I think the only comment AMDTuning made was that they tend to use rather heavy gauge steel for the pipework, which is both a good and bad thing...
Good as it's unlikely to crack a weld, but not so good on the weight across the bolts etc.
But,as it's the only one actually built around clearing a GTX35 compressor......
Hahaha spot in questionAlex I'm curious just what does your s3 do to the gallon .

That's impressive lolAn average of 28.1mpg....LOL
you know what i love about this thread, its that you're never 100% satisfied and are always planning ahead to the next stage. You dont wait around either.
'its just done 550hp with this turbo, so what i might buy this one to get 600hp'
Thats essentially the reoccuring thing in here, which is brilliant. Its the finest example of tuning/power addiction.
p.s. one day i think you may need rehab
Second that I think that's better than I get now. That's impressive lol
Could i fit one of those on mine , how hard is it to fit , and what sort of cost is involved if you don't mind answering.I need it already.
This has been a very messy day.....
The catch can has been letting me know it's nearly full,so after a bit of tuition from Steve at AMD,I gave it a go.
This was not as simple or as clean as I'd hoped.
This looks simple enough....
Undo a few bolts, swing the can at an angle and open the drain plug at the bottom...
Here's the plug...
And how the can is constructed...
Very neat....it has a top, bottom, and the can is formed as a cylinder, with gaskets at the top and bottom, and the whole thing held together by a bolt running from the bottom plate to the top.
That's where things got messy,as the drain bolt was a little tight, and ended up undoing the main bolt holding the can together.
So I'm left with a tin of that gunk, and a pile of bolts!
Anyhow.....here's the stuff that would have gone through the inlet valves, and that's only a couple of months worth.
500mls of really nasty stuff.

That is not cheap could you recommend a catch can that is cheaper and easy to fit or do they not exist ,Unfortunately it's not cheap.
The cam cover and VTA breather system comes to around £600,plus import duties and fitting.
You'll also need to move the charcoal canister(mine was moved to the left wheel arch space in the bumper),and it is a fair bit of work to fit.

Would I still have to move the charcoal filterTelling me!
There are quite a few decent catch cans, and I do think they are worth it to a degree,as there is definitely some muck collected each time you open one.
The Forge one is a decent choice, and their service is excellent.
Would I still have to move the charcoal filter
Thanks I will look into this ,can you recommend a good place to buy from. Not with the Forge catch can system.

Thanks Karl!
If I ever get satisfied I don't know what I'll do,as it would cost me so much more to start again and make a faster car from something else.
Trouble is,I have a few mates elsewhere who are just as bad,and need help too,and they just keep coming up with ideas and so on,and on it goes....
I'll never reach the dizzy heights of the 750bhp Golf R,but 600bhp would do nicely.
That's a pile of gunk alright Alex and it didn't take long to fill up either!
Did you have a peek at the inlets and valves to see how they are doing?
750 is ridiculous, but looks like someone has exceeded that
Thats the 0-400 tune 2 race guys from greece, they're ******* mental and well ahead of the game!
their 8l S3 was setting records in the 1/4 mile.
bonkers
Just caught up on this as I've been a bit too busy to read lately.
Top work as always, but I think we should cobble together some money to get you a GoPro so we can see just how fast it is .
Hahaha love your philosophy bro!You know my philosophy...if it doesn't make the car go faster or better,it's not going on the car....LOL
As for your question, you need to ask a few AMG C63/M5/911 owners for an answer.....or crazylegscrane....he's had a go in it.
Hahaha love your philosophy bro!
Would love to see your car in action
Drive safe
I could imagine, and you do sound like a responsible man!I don't do it often, and I don't do daft speeds, nor in silly places, but the occasional run up to the limit is amusing,or on a trackday perhaps.
I honestly don't get time to do video runs etc,and I'm too busy looking at more parts etc,but AMD will also vouch for it being a fairly fast S3.
I do wish you luck!
The AEM kit is reliable and relatively easy to fit,and to source,so it's worth tracking down.
I'm getting too old to be irresponsible, although there is an attraction to growing old disgracefully, and a colleague of mine did always say I had the mind of an adolescent trapped in the body of a 50yr old....
Cheers Alex. I am hoping to afford the Aquamist kit as it seems damn solid kit. Plan is to tap into the washer fluid tank to keep the install as clean as possible. But not sure if I use water/meth to spray on the windshield / headlights is a wise idea. No clue if it's bad to paint, plastic, and rubber.
Hhahahahha @ your colleague
Yeah cutting into the ECU loom is whats worrying me other than it's priceThe Aquamist kit requires some mapping and cutting into the ECU loom to get the best out of it,whereas the AEM doesn't and is easier to set up and use.
You really should have a separate tank if at all possible.

Regarding the tune I am waiting to see what Rick@unicorn has to say.
Why do you suggest a sperate reservoir?
Mounting a reservoir in my trunk is out of the question to be honest. First because of running lines from the back of the car to the front. Secondly I don't want it to be very obvious as this might get me into trouble with the law
From what I understood running 49% meth and 51% water is safe
Growing old gracefully is overrated I know a few who have.
Keep up the good work Alex
Cheers for your input Alex. Can't I install the pump under the washer fluid reservoir (keeping it away from water)I'd suggest it because it means your washer and WMI reservoirs are separate, and because the reservoir should be above the pump level.
Mine is in the boot, and the lines have never been a problem.
The law aren't in the least bit interested.
