I have a Audi a3 S-Line 2.0 tdi 140 BKD which has an intermittent throttle issue. Sometimes when i pull away in 1st and put my foot down a bit the throttle cuts out then cuts back in about a second later. This usually happens when I have to get out of a side road/roundabout quick (as i live in London this is often)
I had planned to get the car mapped but after speaking to @NHN about this he said he wouldn't get it mapped until this is fixed and as it's intermittent it's unlikely to come up upon the diagnostics pre map.

Could it be the pedal itself as know they are electronic?
It could be.. but wouldn't that effect it all of the time not just when I put my foot down?
It's fine in every gear except for pulling away.
@S3Alex Any idea?

If there's a problem with accelerator pedal then my guess it a fault would be logged.

Not traction control, does it when it's off too.
Just visited amd essex and the only thing they can find is that it's over boosting.

have you checked tyres/ suspension? could just be that wheels are jumping from a lot of power and momentarily loose contact with the road?

Think its due to the overboost, it's getting more boost than it should then dropping making it feel as if I'm losing lower.

Now the fun of diagnosing this with no fault codes..

Overboost would also throw an error code.
Have you got access to genuine VCDS cable?

Yeah I was at amd no error codes.

Interesting, how did you manage to figure that out? My bkd has a really slow pickup between 1000 to 2000 and I was wondering if it was a similar issue?

Friends with a vag specialist and he checked the pump fuel output and it was low - changed that then it stalled non stop changed the filter then it wouldn't start and then checked the canaster and the flap that's in there was stuck closed and wouldn't open.

Yeah similar issue but sometimes wouldn't even rev up to pull away then revved up slowly to 2k then would fly round to red line

No worries, for me it wasn't an issue as warranty covered it.
A good mechanic should be able to diagnose it but depends on if vcds has the option for the fuel measuring blocks which mine didn't but the garage I went to had all parts in stock to try.
Where are you based
