Thinking of getting an S3 (8L chassis), advice and look outs welcome

I have a nice bigger car, looking at getting a smaller car, mainly just bobbing around London in and I like the retro looks and lines of the A3 8L. I also don't have a huge budget

What should I look out for - am i opening my self for loads of hassle and repair bills?

Any advice appreciated.
