So I've had afew problems with the alarm as of late. So I've decided to investigate, looks like the batteries in the siren alarm box has leaked all over the circuit board.

Now I need a new one but how difficult is it to find another working part No 8L0951605 without the same issue?

Can I use a different part No? Heard 8L0951605A fits.

Same happened to mine, i used 8L0951605A with no problems

Thanks, did you buy it new or 2nd hand?

I've seen them on eBay used but knowing my luck id end up with another faulty one.

I brought new, not worth buying secondhand now these cars are 20 years old

You will need to use your original mounting bracket and drill the hole bigger to fit the new alarm on it

Many thanks. I know what I'm doing now.

Your right I forget these are now 20years old.

I bought a second hand item the 8L0951605A off a 2009 Seat Exeo. I figured as it was only 10 years old it might be good. It did work but was not as loud as it should have been so decided to open it up. And the batteries had leaked. Replaced the batteries and it's fine now but pretty much any one you buy second hand will have duff batteries.
