Bought a set of genuine Audi A4 DTM wheels and had them refurbed, there sitting on Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, they look mint, the night pic surprised me the most, well made up and a good choice on shadow chrome.
Prepped with Gtechniq C5 wheel armour and tyres prepped with Tuf shine clear coat.

A massive shout out to Wheelworxs in Colchester for a great job powder coating these beauty's.

I'm still in winter shoes :) It's genuine 17 inch A4 alloys. I'd be happy if they were 18 inch, but I never saw them in this size. Going to fit brand new 18 inch RS3 rotors in a few weeks.

I am looking to fit 18 x 8.5 ET35 fitted with 205/35/18 tyres to my S3 8p and thinking I will be ok???? I previously had my MK5 golf slammed on 18 x 8 ET35 Porsche Turbo Reps with 215/40/18 tyres and they were fine

I`m running et43 with 235 tyres on the rear and 225 on the front, not had a scrub yet, I recon you would be okay running 215s.
The A3 is essentially a MK5 golf with audi body and interior.

I think ET35 will poke out the sides.

Yeah they will poke out but the 215 tyres will pull closer to the inside of the panel and not rub, essentially giving you an ET45.
I`m running ET43 on 235 tyres on the rear and 225 front lowered 30mm, I`m about to lower the rear with eibach sportlines to 35/40 rear and 45/50 front., I think I might rub, I've removed the infamous rear arch liner screw, so fingers crossed.

Hello Everyone,

I came across this Forum yesterday while lookup information for new Wheels, this Forum is exactly what I Need!

What I have?
An ABT Chiped Sportback from 2012.
Summer wheels: 225/35 7.5X18 double spokes design.

What I want?
Summer wheels: 235/35 8x19 5-Arm-Wing-Design (see Picture)

Does anybody have a Picture of it on an A3 8P?

Thanks in Advance

Fitted new summer wheels today: OE RS3 rotors, 18x8J ET50 with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 225/40R18 tyres. It was my first 18 inch wheels and I was surprised that the ride comfort didn't decrease. They feel the same as my 17 inch winter wheels on a picture above, perhaps even more comfortable/softer. Or I'm just like their looks so much that I think the ride improved?

Do I need spacers? Anyone with 18X8 ET50 and spacers here?

With spacers and some load it will probably rub. Looks good by the way!
Thanks mate. That's my biggest concern and a reason for asking. I want more flush look without risk of rubbing. I read people used 10-12mm spacers with wheels like these and being lowered more than mine.

Also, the distance between the rubber and the rear fender is different on the left vs right side of the car. The rear left wheel (on a pic above) looks better and more flush than the right. Perhaps I need to check camber.

I was running 16mm rear spacers with an ET54 with a slight rub when loaded, 5 up with roof box full.
So you will get away with 10mm rear, but you have to remove the rear bumper screw. Front I was 10mm, so you can fit 6mm.

Your car on B12 is lower than mine on VWR/B4, so perhaps I have more place for the wheels with spacers. I'll try to measure the right spacer width like H&R suggests in their video. Another question is about wheel bolts. Should I get longer ones if I'd only fit 5-10mm spacers or would the stock bolts be fine?

Just bought a set of 18" alloys both et40, 8.5j front and rear 9.5j and I'm planning on going down a fair bit but sticking to static, what tyres would fit? I want a little stretch but nothing ott? I know it's not for everyone just wanted some friendly advice thanks....

You might get away with 225 on the fronts but definitely 215s.
I`m running 235 on the rear with ET43 and 8j, no rub yet, but not had a load in the back yet, you will need to remove the rear bumper screw and trim the tab down. Im 30mm lower, but going 40mm rear and 50mm front next weekend, so will see how I get on.
How low you going Welshy?

wicked STANCE mate. May I ask, did you do any arch mods to accommodate the 8.5 & 9.5 stretch
Alright mate! Not only do we share the same second name but the same wheel fitment lol! Any troubles with scrubbage? Only asking as im yet too get tyres the s3 looks the nuts by the way

Who me? I've not got tyres as of yet but seems ok as it stands but think I will need to run a bit of camber, but no arch mods! Been told about the rear bolt and maybe trimming but that's all good

Update. I saw 8J ET43 wheels on a 8P and liked how it looks. As my rotors are ET50, it's 7mm difference. I decided to be on a save side and ordered 5mm spacers on all corners which would make my wheels ET45.

I have a question. It was answered plenty of times and I read those answers, so I'm sorry for asking again. What bolt length should I buy? Stock bolt thread length is 27-28mm. Add 5mm spacer width and get 32-33mm. Should I choose bolts with 30mm or 35mm thread length? Wouldn't the former ones be too short or the latter ones too long?

Also, does locking bolts/nuts help against thieves? There are sets that have 4 locking nuts in them, but is it worth bothering? Don't thieves have all necessary equipment anyway?

How much are people paying to have standard rotors refurbed or having the middle section painted darker?

Finally decided on the new RS4 V-spoke style wheels for this year. They are 18x8j ET45 with 225/40/18 Rainsport 3's fitted. 5mm spacers on rear. Car is lowered approx 60mm on coilovers.

Hey guys, just a quick question. I'm doing some advance research before buying a new set of wheels for my 8P.

The car is currently on stock 18" s-line black edition wheels and lowered on 50mm springs (as pictured).

I'm looking at either the Bola b1, b10 or b8r (completely different styles I know). What I would like to know is, if i go up to 19" would that counteract the affect of the springs on the overall ride height or would they tuck into the arches more?

TIA

You will be running 35 profile tyres on the 19s which is an inch in difference to the 40 profile on the 18 inch, so it will be the same circumference, ie no change, just firmer ride.
Expect to pay more for tyres.

Thanks dude that's good to know. I am expecting to pay more for tyres. What tyres would you recommend as a good all round tyre?

I`m running the new Michelin pilot sport 4s.
Scarred the life out of my mate earlier going round a roundabout, he was well impressed how they performed, no tyre squeal, just pure grip, he was alright when we came to the next roundabout and felt confident in the grip.
I can feel the suspension (Bilstien B12 sportline) working its magic and the way the car works, which in turn gives me a lot of feel and confidence in pushing on.

What ET are you getting?

Hello everyone,

I've posted earlier in another thread and in the meantime I've found this great thread and decided to post here.

Here are the images of alloys which I consider to put on my A3 SP (Photoshoped).

Genuine A4 B6 200-2004 alloy wheels 7,5JX16H2 ET45

Which of these three alloys you will choose and should all of them fit without rubbing issues?

None of them would rub.
As to which of them I would choose, none. Replacing 16 inch wheels with larger was my first mod. But that's a matter of personal taste.

Yeah, I agree larger wheels is always better choice. But I've already bought brand new Michelin 205/55 R16 tyres.
So now, I just have to decide which 16" alloys to buy. I prefer genuine ones and those three are something I've managed to find at good price right now.
