the plus side of -5.5 degrees is that ALL your dead pixels on the display of your cars average millage etc work perfect for about 5 miles hahahah!

i wish it worked this well all the time!

hope everyone has a nice christmas=)

Mines the same mate, when it's really cold the whole screen works amazingly, then as it gets warmer, the pixels slowly vanish, until at worst in summer, you can't read anything at all.

thats really strange, mine is shocking in the cold and then after about 20 mins of driving most if not all of the dead pixels vanish... (looks correct)

The DIS in my old A4 was ok in most weathers, then after it had been laid-up for a month (colder weather) the whole screen went red!
Sold it now, hope the DIS went back to normal for the new owner 'cos there wasn't much wrong with it, just a few pixels.

It's odd that below -5 the ice warning icon disappears

Also, I was in France yesterday and it was reading -8 as we crossed the pont de normandie, that was chilly :D

I don’t know how but my display works better when it’s warm. its dead pixels until the heater works behind the dash, and it worked fine during summer, plus side is the car feel more powerful, due to I have no Idea can someone explain please!:uhm:

I find my pixels react slower when it's cold and probably look a little more faded when it's cold, same with my old A3 too...

    As for -5.5, that's nothing...
When I went to Poland snow boarding the dis in our higher car was showing -22 iirc, now that is cold. The insides of the rear door windows would ice up, you'd scrape them clean and within minutes they would ice up again, and that was with the heaters on full...:cold:

Past Lewes mate, so you're A23 corridor now then, Henfield is or used to be quiet & also in a nice area iirc, its close enough to the mway but far enough away from towns like Burglar Bill & Brighton, but close enough for a cheapish cab etc after a night on the tiles in Brighton etc.

Worthing years back used to be a party place for me at Sterns, rave on dude, lol

Cold air is denser, the engine can add more fuel to the same volume of air whilst still maintaining a good burn. More fuel - more power.

Thats why cold air induction kits are so popular. And intercoolers exist.

    :)
